HvG was founded in 2018 in London by Henriette von Grünberg out of her love for luxurious textiles and the vision to connect the most skilled artisans everywhere to create a contemporary and sustainability-driven brand. Our designs are timeless, feminine and with minimalistic opulence. Our strongest inspirations are always the strong women for whom we create. Women who are extremely quality-conscious, women who prefer ten timelessness to a hundred trendy dresses, women with an unmistakable style that reflects an extraordinary life. Guided by the true belief in slow-fashion, we produce our editions in hand-picked ateliers.

Nourai

Custom-made dresses

Meet Nourai, our master seamstress in our Berlin Atelier who dedicates her life truely to her art. With her, we develop our custom-made dresses for many years and develop our intricate patterns for the most elaborate designs. In Berlin Kreuzberg, we found the best home for custom-made products. What we love is that, like in a piece of art, every piece made by her carries her handwriting, her own way of finishing. This is what we love: textile products that carry the personality of the artisan who made them.

Seema

Meet Seema, founder of our fully sustainable textile atelier and the attached women-empowerment foundation in New Delhi. We simply love and support her courage and vision to empower women, especially in rural areas of India in gaining independence through professional training as master tailors, through providing truly fair incomes and a real community of other like-minded women. We believe, empowering women means to empower entire communities. Together with them, we make our ready-to-wear collections in a fully sustainable atelier: we use only organic raw material with organic dyes and even our logistics packaging is biodegradable.

Ready-to-wear

Meet BeeDee, our master goldsmith of unique heritage. In the most western part of Rajasthan, India, on the edge of the desert is the traditional jewelers center, the Fort of Jaisalmer. On the ancient Silk Road, some of the world´s most skilled artisans in gold and stones are here for centuries. BeeDee and his family are one of these: he leads the traditional goldsmith's atelier in the 9th generation straight in their own little palace, where, people such as Mick Jagger come and go. His skilled work is exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum and for us he personally selects every stone and was willing to make gold-filled collections, so that his artisan heritage and affordable contemporary luxury can be unified for the new HvG collections.

Meet Natasha, from our Accessory Atelier in Vienna who, with her lovely team of Ukranian women is to be blamed personally, for the absolutely stunning and perfect bows and headbands and bags. When we developed our epic headbands, she took the challenge seriously to make the most comfortable fit on the market. And Natasha succeeded, like always. Whenever the ladies pick something up, it becomes their cherished project. We love this team of passionate craftswomen so much.

Materials

Our materials are sourced locally. This is crucial because this is truly the soul of our brand. Whoever we work with, needs to be best-in-class, needs to fulfill our own high standards in sustainability and quality. Most of our fabrics we source from a traditional weaver in Bremen/Germany. Our pearls come from a small trader in Berlin/Germany and from Paris/France which we turn into jewelry in London. We use only glass stones for our jewelry because we refuse to support the condition of any natural stones being dug out of the ground by hand.
All of our ateliers are part of the HvG family and we keep a true friendship with everyone who contributes - this is essential.

Informed by Henriette´s academic research at Imperial College London into sustainability in the textile industry, we put the most impactful measures before any marketing shi shi. We are happy to share every part of what this means with everyone because the industry needs brands that take sustainability and transparency serious outside the marketing departments.
